Falling for Fall

Urban Outfitters Dress
Old Navy Cardigan
Target sandals

Okay....It's past labor day.... it's September.... IT NEEDS TO BE FALL ALREADY. That's all I ask of you. (Phantom of the Opera reference srry) (I <3 musicals) (fun facts). But okay, since it is NOT fall yet... I kind of declared it was anyway with my outfits. So I'm wearing a short dress with sandals, but I put a simple, dark colored, striped cardigan over it. The cardigan alone made this outfit a more autumn ready style. Yet I'm still wearing sandals to cope with the heat here in the south. There are many ways to wear half summer/half fall styles in this weird mid-season time we are in right now. Thanks for reading!

Teal

Both top and skirt from Deja Vu Boutique

Kate Spade once said, "Playing dress up begins at age five and never truly ends." Sometimes, when you're stuck in the warp of doom that is high school, you have to stand out and shine with your outfit. I did that with this outfit by wearing the best, most flattering color on anyone, teal, with my sparkly khaki skirt. I took two pieces that can stand alone and brought them together to form an outfit. Or a compound sentence. Either one. Well, thanks for reading! I love you guys!

Basics Not Basic

Thrifted Leather Vest
H&M Top
Skinny Jeans
Clark's flats

Dear Mondays,
I just would like to say thanks for being worse than sparkly pink uggs and for making me feel sadder than an 20 year old at a teen club. I really appreciate all the tears you've caused and, not to mention, the days when you and the rain clouds decide to hook up and produce this dark, rainy Monday love child. But nothing is as worse as the damper you put on the young, bright eyed girls who are just trying to look cute without getting spat on by your weird Monday fluid. Really thanks. It's really cool.
-JUST AN AVERAGE TEENAGE GIRL WITH A KIND HEART

Okay, so now that that's over, I just would like to say, Mondays don't have to be a bad thing! At least, with your outfit that is... If you don't believe me, just look at my outfit. All I am wearing is a simple gray tank top with skinny jeans and flats. Then I threw on a leather vest and a did a messy side braid. THAT'S IT. Basics are the key for Mondays. They are as simple, if not simpler than a t shirt and jeans and they look so much better. So, when next Monday hits, don't be basic. Wear basics.

p.s. sorry for that awful play on words. it's monday.

Things

Top from vignettes
Scarf from Anthropologie
Belt from Gap
Jeans from Madewell

I am just wearing lots of things in this outfit...........But I think it works, right? I'm wearing this super cute polka dot top tucked into my favorite Madewell jeans with a hot pink belt! Then I threw a summer-y scarf on and a high pony(I'm trying to bring high ponies back...). I also tucked my top in only a little in the front on my jeans-something I've seen a lot of lately. You should try it! Also, never be afraid to pull out a summer scarf! They will keep you warm in a freezing school.

Day 2

Charlotte Russe Denim Vest
Polo tee
H&M skirt
Oxfords from Franchesa's

Okay, it's the second day of senior year. Is it too early to have senioritis? Just kidding... I think... So I put on a simple white tee and this polka dot skater skirt, then added sparkly oxfords and a denim vest. Instead of wearing my denim vest loose and opened, I decided to button some of the buttons for a more preppy, school-girl feel. Try wearing your denim vest buttoned up for a change of look. Hope everyone starting high school or college is having a great time!

TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY

Hello all, if you have been following me on my instagram, you know very well that I FINALLY MADE IT TO NEW YORK! Visiting, seeing, living, even touching New York City has been a dream of mine since before the pre-reconstruction era (sorry I've been missing APUSH lately). Basically I've been obsessed for my entire life (I blame too many viewings of Eloise at the Plaza) and actually getting to go to the greatest city in the world was indescribable for me. Not to mention I got to experience the city with my two best and longest friends! A dream come true right?! YES! The trip could not have been more perfect, from sightseeing, to Bergdorf Goodman, to minor shoe mishaps, the trip was like living in a filterless scenic instagram picture. But okay, here's the quickest synopsis ever of my three and a half day trip: We arrived at our hotel around 3:00pm on Saturday and went straight to the Upper West Side. We saw the Gossip Girl made famous Empire Hotel, Lincoln Center, Century 21, Central Park, Columbus Circle, and more! Next day(Sunday) we toured, shopped, walked, lived, kissed(just kidding), the Upper East Side and Fifth Ave! We went to the MET, the Plaza, Bergdorf's, and more and I DIED! Monday(I'm so dead of happiness by this point) we went shopping in Soho(loved), then went to the Top of Rockfeller Center(loved!), and that night saw Phantom of the Opera on Broadway(LOVEDDDDD!). Finally, our last day, we awoke super early to stop by Good Morning America then to catch a quick brunch before our flight. Our plans were slightly altered when we realized KARLIE KLOSS was going to be on GMA! Of course we stayed and my friend Eric even got a picture with her! And, just like that, our trip was over and we were back on a flight to Nowhere, GA.

Now here are my main OOTD's from the trip. Let me just say there were a lot of wardrobe changes on my part:)

rando ootd

Anthropologie Top
Forever21 shorts
Bag from Barney's Outlet
Random Sandals

So, sorry I've been so nonexistent lately... To my surprise, summer is actually one of the busiest times of the year. And I've been spending a lot of it wearing the high fashions of t-shirts and tank tops! What kind of a fashion blogger am I? Anyway, this was a random outfit I wore to lunch with my mom. I am simply mixing the colors yellow and navy with brown accents. Super fun, super classy looking color combo, I would wear it everyday honestly. Also, they are both solid pieces, making the outfit more dressed up and sophisticated. Till next time!
